Ministry Activity

Drop In Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays: (Commences again in April) From 11:00am till 2:00pm a team operate from the bus when it is parked in the car park of the Glasgow Elim Church, Inglefield Street, where it is used as a drop-in café for the women from the neighbouring Hostel and for others in the area looking for some company and a cup of tea.

Thursday Mornings: From 10:00am till 1:00pm a second team from Salt and Light take the bus to the Gorbals area of Glasgow where the bus is used as a drop-in, café style, support base. The team assist people from all walks of life: some who just drop in for chat and a tea or coffee and to others who have various addictions and need more specialized help. They also provide food, clothing, shoes, sleeping bags, etc.

Thursday Evenings: From 10:00pm till midnight a third team from Salt & Light take the bus into Glasgow city centre's red light area to provide food, clothing, quilts, sleeping bags, support and prayer to the disadvantaged, the homeless and the vulnerable, particularly those women working as prostitutes on the streets of Glasgow.

Friday Evenings: During the winter months, and when not otherwise in use, Cartsbridge Evangelical Church, Busby use the bus to assist with their Friday evening youth program, devoted to giving youngsters a meaningful, focused alternative to simply “hanging about”!

Many people have responded to the message of The Gospel through all these ministries, some of whom have completed the Alpha Course and have since found a route out of alcohol, drug addiction and prostitution.

Please pray that more and more will receive Christ, and, in Him, find healing from all their pain and a way out of their current difficult situations.
