Salt and Light is a Christian outreach ministry founded and co-ordinated by Anne Wallace of Glasgow Elim Church.
Our Bus
We would like to thank everyone who prayed for a new bus to replace our ageing double-decker. The Souter Foundation once again kindly provided us with another, more modern, bus which Anne and some of her team painted, after they helped extensively renovate it into a café style outreach.

Ministry Team
The Salt and Light ministry is entirely staffed by volunteers; a group of ordinary people from all walks of life and from various Churches who have discovered that loving God and living for Him is the true purpose of life.
VOLUNTEERS – MINISTRY TEAM AND BUS DRIVERS
We would appreciate more volunteers for the ministry and also suitably experienced and qualified volunteers able to take turns at driving the bus. An interview and satisfactory references would be required. Please contact Anne Wallace at Salt and Light on 0798 0124163 if you would like to be considered, or to find out more about how you can get involved.
Ministry Activity
Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays: From 11:00am till 2:00pm a team operate from the bus when it is parked in the car park of the Glasgow Elim Church, Inglefield Street, where it is used as a drop-in café for the women from the neighbouring Hostel and for others in the area looking for some company and a cup of tea.
Thursday Evenings: From 10:00pm till midnight a second team from Salt & Light take the bus into Glasgow city centre to provide food, clothing, quilts, sleeping bags, support and prayer to the disadvantaged, the homeless and the vulnerable, particularly those women working as prostitutes on the streets of Glasgow.
Fridays Mornings: From 10:00am till 1:00pm a third team from Salt and Light take the bus to the Gorbals area of Glasgow where the bus is used as a drop-in, café style, support base. The team assist people from all walks of life: some who just drop in for chat and a tea or coffee and to others who have various addictions and need more specialized help. They also provide food, clothing, shoes, sleeping bags, etc.
Friday Evenings: During the winter months, and when not otherwise in use, Cartsbridge Evangelical Church, Busby use the bus to assist with their Friday evening youth program, devoted to giving youngsters a meaningful, focused alternative to simply “hanging about”!
Many people have responded to the message of The Gospel through all these ministries, some of whom have completed the Alpha Course and have since found a route out of alcohol, drug addiction and prostitution.
Please pray that more and more will receive Christ, and, in Him, find healing from all their pain and a way out of their current difficult situations.
