Salt and Light is a Christian outreach ministry operated by Glasgow Elim Church. Our team takes a double decker bus into Glasgow's Red Light area to provide prayer, food and support to the women working as prostitutes in the city centre.
Our aim as an outreach team is to be the Gospel and to express God's love in effective and practical ways to those in the greatest need in the city of Glasgow and beyond. We are a group of ordinary people from all walks of life who have discovered that loving God and living for Him is the true purpose of life.
We are believing God for a brand new double decker bus... to help us take the ministry to the next level. We believe that there should be no poverty spirit mentality in God's people so we are believing for the best. Of course we also always need financial support to continue the work of the ministry to see lives changed for Christ and to give more girls a route out of prostitution... please visit our Donate Page for the various ways you can help support this ministry.
Please pray for protection for the Salt and Light team, for resources and especially a new bus to replace our aging double decker (seen above). Please also pray that more and more will receive Christ, and in Him find healing and a way out of their situation.
The team have noticed that there are an increasing number of young people, as young as 13 and 14 yrs old, on the streets in Glasgow. Please pray particularly for these vulnerable children.
You may not be able to do the work of the ministry yourself but you can help us do the work of the ministry in practical ways. Salt and Light always has a need for: canned hot dogs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaving foam, deodorant, new hats & scarves etc.
